In this exclusive clip from My Morning Jacket's forthcoming appearance on VH1's Storytellers, frontman Jim James explains how his grandmother's concern about the band playing a lot of bars in the early days of their career inspired "Golden," a lovely folk rock ballad from their 2003 album It Still Moves. The band's full performance on Storytellers will premiere on Friday, June 3rd at 11p.m. on VH1. My Morning Jacket Find Killer New Groove on 'Circuital' By Brian Hiatt
March 3, 2011 7:40 AM ET As My Morning Jacket prepared to record "Holdin' on to Black Metal," the wildest track on their new album, Circuital (out this spring), frontman Jim James set the scene for his bandmates: "'I want it to sound like we're Cuban or Cambodian kids, and we're wearing berets and we're walking through an alley and we stumble upon this band, and it explodes into this crazy sing-along,'" keyboardist Bo Koster recalls with a laugh.
